SWISS Unveils “SWISS Senses” First & Business Class: The New Long-Haul Experience

Swiss International Air Lines (“SWISS”) has introduced its comprehensive cabin-revamp for long-haul flights under the banner SWISS Senses. Starting in 2025, this new experience isn’t just about upgraded seating – it’s about a fully reimagined passenger experience. From the cabin design, amenities, lighting, sensory details, and even the materials, inspiration is drawn from Switzerland itself.

What is “SWISS Senses”?

Swiss SENSES isn’t just a new update – it’s a new experience.

With Swiss Senses, SWISS says it’s going beyond just updated seats. The concept includes a newly developed cabin design; signature scent (“Alpine Valley”); new amenity kits and pajamas for First; renewed bedding for all classes; upgraded inflight entertainment; lighting built to reduce jet lag; and enhanced service overall.

The aesthetic draws on Swiss nature, architecture, and tradition of warm yet muted tones like Bordeaux, anthracite, and beige feature heavily. Materials are meant to be high quality and timeless.

The new SWISS Senses cabin will make its debut on the airline’s brand new Airbus A350 aircraft in 2025. These planes will be the first to showcase the fully reimagined interiors, offering passengers the complete range of updated first and business class experiences from day one. Over time, the rollout will extend to other parts of the fleet, with the Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 also scheduled to undergo retrofits. This gradual introduction means that within just a few years, most of SWISS’s long-haul aircraft will carry the new design, ensuring a consistent premium experience across its major international routes.

For first class passengers, the introduction of sliding doors, spacious wardrobes, and high suite walls measuring about 1.8 meters offers a level of privacy and exclusivity rarely seen in commercial aviation. This new suite concept transforms the cabin into something closer to a private apartment in the sky, setting a new benchmark for SWISS’s top tier service.

Business class travelers will find that the airline has put equal emphasis on choice and flexibility. With multiple seating types, from extra long beds to double seats for companions, every traveler can choose the option that best suits their style of flying. The addition of features like wireless charging, bluetooth connectivity, and direct aisle access across all seats ensures comfort and convenience throughout the journey.

Even those traveling in premium economy and economy will notice significant improvements. Larger screens, better seating ergonomics, upgraded bedding, and a lighting system designed to combat jet lag all contribute to an enhanced in-flight experience. The human-centric design approach, including warmer tones and refined materials, reflects SWISS’s intent to deliver comfort across every cabin class.
